There are three major airports in Cyprus which are Larnaca, Pafos and Ercan and all of them are not too far away from city centers. Bars, restaurants and duty-free shop facilities are available at all the airports. Tourists can find taxis and coaches outside airport terminal. They can also enter Cyprus through passenger ships that are connected major ports like Rhodes, Heraklion, Port Said and Haifa. However, these traveling passenger services are very less in number, especially in winters.

In case tourists plan to enter Cyprus through land, they should remember to wear helmets, if on bikes, and they should never violate the speed limits anywhere. Few other travel tips to remember are that they should be above 21 years in case they wish to rent a car otherwise they can drive their own car for 90 days, provided they have valid registration.

Visitors are not allowed to bring fruits, vegetables, seeds and other agricultural products without approval. No departure tax is levied. Visitors willing to drive their own car into Cyprus can drive around for 90 days with valid car registration license. The minimum age is 21 years to hire a car from the local travels and the drivers shouldn’t violate speed norms on highways as well as on city roads. Bikers need to wear helmets while cycling. Some sea ports are closed for passenger service and Cyprus has declared them as illegal ports for entering the country.

One of the important things as a tourist you should know is that the people here respect their religion a lot. So as a visitor you should also respect their orthodox Greek and Muslim customs. The local culture is an amalgamation of the Turkish and Greek cultures. One can even see some of dash of the British culture also. The local population wears casual outfits and you have to limit wearing beachwear to the beaches only. Best season to visit Cyprus is September.
